Hey! I'm Leslie! Join me in my Food meets fashion adventure!

Oh Spring, How I Adore Thee

Oh Spring, How I Adore Thee

I’m obsessed with spring. It’s why Chris and I got married {outside} in April, why I save up all of my shopping funds through the Winter season, and why I tend to get much more creative in the kitchen as soon as March rolls in.

White jeans, florals, crop tops, nautical stripes, and chambray galore, the season offers so much in terms of fashion. I mean, I do love an edgy jacket and boot combo in the winter - but it just doesn’t compare to the delightfulness of spring outfit assembling.

And don’t even get me started on shorts. I freaking love me some cut offs with a simple tank top and flip flops. I will always be a Florida girl - so it’s a good thing SoCal’s weather isn’t too far off from the sunshine state’s excessively warm temps. I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention I sometimes find myself missing that humidity. It is some kind of magic for the skin.

Cooking gets more fun too. Forget the winter stews and chilis that lack enthusiasm and inspiration and bring on spring pea and asparagus dotted pastas, picture-perfect and crisp salads, and delectably light and flavorful seafood dishes. I love it all.

Let’s talk about the blooming trees and flowers too. Tulips and poppies are all over my neighborhood and Bougainvilleas are growing like crazy all over LA. It’s freaking gorgeous.

So there’s my ode to Spring and this outfit is only the beginning of an array of ensembles that I so love wearing during these perfectly warm months. Shorts and sundresses are to come too - I can assure you of that.
